We want to switch Penbook to a trial/freemium model. A way to try the app for free is our most-requested feature.
We also want to make sure all existing users aren't adversely affected by this switch.
That's why we released the 'freemium' version to our paid users with a $0.00 in-app purchase (IAP). Acquiring this free IAP gives you all the new features in Penbook and locks in your license for life.
We wish there was a better way to grandfather our existing users, but this really seemed like the least-bad option. If you have any trouble claiming your free IAP, please contact us and we'll help!
You can sync your penbooks to and from OneDrive from the app's home screen:
Before synchronizing, you need to authorize Penbook to use your OneDrive account:
Cloudbutton in the top-right
To upload your local copy to OneDrive:
...button under the penbook you want to upload
A spinner will appear on the cloud icon, indicating the upload is in progress. When your upload is complete, a green checkmark will appear on the cloud icon.
To download a penbook from OneDrive:
Cloudicon in the top-right
Downloadbutton. If you already have this penbook locally on your device, you will be prompted for confirmation that you wish to overwrite your local copy of the penbook with OneDrive's copy.
Penbook can import custom stationery in two ways:
Making a new penbook from a PDF
To make a new penbook from a PDF, navigate to the home screen of the app. Then, click
Import from PDF. Select the PDF you want to use to create a penbook. You can use this penbook as normal (including adding/re-arranging pages, changing stationery, and exporting).
Inserting a photo or PDF into an existing penbook
To insert a photo or PDF into an existing penbook, take these steps:
Import stationery (image or PDF)
The photo or PDF you select will be inserted as stationery.
If you import a multi-page PDF, new pages will be inserted for the second, third, etc. pages of the imported PDF.
On the Home screen, press the
... button, then choose
